Solution to Duplicate Emails Sent by Microsoft Exchange Server

Our email-to-sms gateway will send out messages accordingly when there are multiple “to” addresses in the mail header.

Normally if there are multiple destinations in the “to” field, your mailer server would split the email and put one address per email. However if you are using Microsoft Exchange server, it will split the email AND leave all addresses in the “to” field in each email. So when these emails hit our server, multiple duplicated messages will be sent.

Unfortunately this is something that we have no control over. Because of this, we have a simple solution. You can setup a distribution list in your account. This is simply a list containing all the destination numbers you wish the message to go to. You can then send a single email to the distribution list.
