Advantages

2-way SMS - Using a virtual mobile number allows you to set up 2 way text messaging campaigns - ie. you can send a message out and receive a reply back on the virtual mobile number. This is ideal for office staff to hold 2 way "text" conversations with remote workers.

Unlike Jersey Telecom or Manx Telecom 07* numbers, texting into Vodafone numbers is typically included within UK subscribers' "text bundles". Vodafone numbers can also receive SMS from most networks worldwide, making them a good choice for international services.
